Time to buy new sheets. I remembered a set I slept on in Clovis one weekend long ago. I loved the feel of them. New right where to get them. They cost $20. Had to choose between black and oatmeal. Chose black. Can't wait to snuggle in between them. It was a good day shopping. I am better than I deserve right now. Blessed beyond my expectations. God is good.Friday, April 30, 2010

Thursday night...12:30 am...off the freeway, turning left, almost home...mini life group was good tonight. It took a while to get started but once we did we had intrigue, murder, excitement and Rev Roo only covered her eyes twice...good job Roo. Can't wait until next week. We can expand if any one is interested. But 2.5 is still a good number...#1 girl stopped by for a quick update...always good to see her.Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Red turning green
Today is Thursday, I am driving home from my mini life group. It's just the 2 of us tonight. We caught up on grand babies, and weddings and many many days of not meeting and then we caught up on our favorite show...flash forward. This is my red light turning green so I can drive the 5 minutes it takes me to get home. It was so sweet at 3 minutes to midnight, my phone rings, it's my son. Wondering where I was and when I would be home. It's nice to be worried about.Thursday, April 15, 2010
The Red, White and Blue
Patriotic colors are everywhere at my house. I believe in the American way and the freedom that the flag stands for. I do my best to show respect in the ways I display the colors of this land. If I ever do it wrong, please feel free to let me know in a gentle and loving way ... or you will be sorry you ever spoke to me :}Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Rain in the trees
Today was the first day back to work after 2 weeks of spring break, plus an extra 5 days of pre-wedding to-do's. I woke up to the rain gently bouncing off of the cement outside my bedroom window. I thought it was a nice way to wake up. Then I remembered...I have to go to work....so out of bed I sprang...yes, sprang and got dress and packed a lunch, took my morning blood sugar, meds and poured my coffee. Off I go down the rainy streets of my Southern California town. When I found a suitable parking spot, I stopped and took in the sights. I looked up and thought, cool looking tree. I think I will post it on the blog. The sun came out later in the day, but I will remember this day as a rainy one.Sunday, April 11, 2010

CLEAN

A good lil fisherman

I went to a friends house today and had a lovely time. We talked and laughed and discussed many things. We have been friends for a while now.
Some people even call us Lucy and Ethel.
We haven't decided who is who and it doesn't really matter. We can laugh at ourselves and each other but we also lift each other up. My walk with Christ has been enhanced by knowing her.
The picture of this little guy brings back memories of a road trip we made a couple of summers past. We decided to visit Amy and meet her new man Matt. So we loaded up the truck and away we went. Lucy, Ethel and the 2 dogs. We stopped at roadside fruit stands and random gas stations for pit stops. I have never laughed so much in my life. While in Clovis/Fresno, we did some antique shopping. We found this little fisher guy in a shop and had to have him. He would be a surprise Christmas gift for Lucy's husband. Well, the husband was surprised and loved him so much that he built this special "doc" for him over their Koi pond. He may not be politically correct, but he brings back smiles and giggles and loving memories from when we all slept in a very small space at the sheep unit at Fresno State for a short weekend visit.

No open doors please

One thing I dislike in my home is open doors. To me it's like one has left ones zipper down. I never thought of myself as OCD or picky to the point of annoying. But, this bothers me a lot. Mark and I went to his cousins for dinner and when we returned, Joe had left the cupboard door open. He was in his room. He had finished with the kitchen. Why does he leave the doors open? I have told him many times, "please close the doors when you are through," I shared this pet peeve of mine with my friend. She said she would come over and close the doors for me and then tell Joe a thing or two. It's about time for a phone call to Santee...
